Dear guests,

we are very happy that you found your way onto our website and we hope that you will also find your way to Italy next June to celebrate our wedding with us.

On this website we will provide information about the celebration and all kinds of related things. Currently, the focus is more on accommodation and convincing you what a lovely place this is, so that you will want to spend part of you vacation next year in South Tyrol or Italy. With June approaching, we will put more details about the program, so make sure to visit this site again. And if you have any questions or would like to get help with something, please do not hesitate to ask us.

Hoping to see all of you at the wedding,
Eva & Hagen

P.S.: Yuriman, as the only English speaking local almost none of the stuff we are writing here is relevant for you. Except maybe for the part of sleeping in the mountains.

Important note: unfortunately we didn't manage to update all three versions of our website, all recent updates only appeared in the German part. Please have a look there and if you don't understand everything, just ask us.

The menue

Starters. Friday June 16th, 2017

In case you are already here on Friday, we would be very happy if you accompany us on a small walk to a hut in the afternoon. Of course the tour is suitable for all ages, from grandma to toddler, and should appeal to those that normally do not like hikes. Start and finish will be close to St. Konstantin/Völs, where we will celebrate the next day, a hot hut candidate is the Tuffalm. The whole point of this excursion is to enjoy some nice South Tyrolean speck, cheese and wine[1]
like that plus wine
at the hut.

Main course. Saturday June 17th, 2017

The day! The wedding ceremony and the celebration will take place at the Stanglerhof in St. Konstantin. The program is not yet fixed, but the ceremony will likely begin in the early afternoon in a walking distance to the Stanglerhof. Afterwards, there will be an aperitif reception on the terrace. In the evening there will be the dinner and celebration with open end.

Dessert. Sunday June 18th, 2017

To complete the weekend, we would like to have breakfast with you on Sunday morning[2] Or rather 'have brunch', since we certaily won't start before 10:30.. Again, somewhere in St. Konstantin, possibly also at the Stanglerhof.

Sometime in the following week, we will leave for our honeymoon[3]Being employed in Italy has the nice benefit that we will get two extra weeks of holidays when we marry, muhahaha. Unfortunately this offer is only for the first marriage ..., but not directly. So in case you plan to stick around for a couple of days after the wedding, we'd be happy to spend more time with you.

Italian Journey

In case you are wondering why two Germans are getting married in Italy: We have been living in Terlan[4]The little village on the very left side of the above image. for the last four years and we just love it here. So why not (officially) start our future together where our present lies?[5]Alternatively, we could have chosen the place of our mutual past, but seriously, Saarbrücken vs. South Tyrol?

We are celebrating at the Stanglerhof in St. Konstantin, a very small village between the small villages Völs and Seis, about half an hour from Bolzano. Most of you will likely come by plane, although some European car maniacs[6]Hello, Adrian! might actually drive here.

Bolzano does have an airport, but unless you have your own private yet you are out of luck. The closest "real" airports are Innsbruck (Austria) and Verona, both circa 1 1/2h by car. With Ryanair you can get to Milano Bergamo, however this is already 2 1/2h by car. Even further are the big international airports Venice, Milano, and Munich (Germany).

At all airports you can of course rent a car and this will probably be the best way to get to the wedding. If you are at least in two, this is likely also going to be the cheapest option. However, you can also reach all airports by public transport, that is, either by a dedicated bus line, or by train, followed by a bus from Bolzano to the Stanglerhof. If you plan to fly here and don't want to rent a car at an airport you can contact us and we can help you arrange the best transfer to the wedding.

Accommodation

Since we are getting married in the off season in a rather touristy area, there should be plenty accommodation close by.

For families or larger groups, holiday apartments are usually a cheaper and more spacious option. However they sometimes require that you at leas stay for three or more nights and not all of them speak English. Thus if would like to stay in such an apartment the best thing would be to contact us and we help you find a nice place. On the map below we marked the  Stanglerhof (also see camping) all  hotels and  holiday apartments close by, including some  recommendations. Click on the symbol on the map to get more information. There are even more places to stay in Völs and Seis, which we did not mark in the map, but both villages are 4-5km away, thus you'd need to get a taxi.

Camping at Stanglerhof

Certainly an unusual accommodation for weddings, but you can also camp at the Stanglerhof at the weekend of the wedding. You can set up your tent in the garden and sleep there free of charge. In the basement of the Stanglerhof there is a toilet and a shower, which you can use also free of charge. The Stanglerhof is not a camping site and there are no strangers camping there, this is just an offer by our hosts. If you want to use this option please contact us so that we can coordinate this with the owners.

Stanglerhof

When we looked for places for our wedding, we of course started with the castles in the area, as weddings and castles just go well together. However, we ended up selecting a former farm in the mountains.

The Stanglerhof simply is a great place at the base of the dolomite mountain Schlern[7]The big rock in the image above, which we think suits us well. The two owners are very likable, you can immediately tell that good food and good products are important to them. We hope that you will like their place as much as we do.

Kinder

We don't have any kids, but we believe yours won't get bored at the Stanglerhof. In the large garden there is a play ground area with a sand box and a small climbing frame. We'll try to get some, but please feel free to bring additional toys for your kids.

Next to where we celebrate, there is a small wooden house where your children can rest or sleep if they get tired. We will also put up our tent in the garden for the adventurous children.

Advertising South Tyrol

If you already went through all the hassle in getting to South Tyrol, why don't you add a couple of vacation days? The area has much to offer in terms of nature[8]Hopefully the pictures on this site give an impression of that., climate[9]They claim that we have '300 hundred days of sun per year', though we admit that we are not sure how a sun day is defined., and delicacy[10]Hopefully the wedding dinner will convince you of that.. No matter if you like to swim[11], climb[12], taste wines[13], relax on a mountain pasture[14], climb passes on your bike[15] bomb down trails[16] , taste a good beer[17], enjoy the landscape[18], relish proper Italian pizza[19], or let the sun warm your face[20].

Bella Italia

Once you made it to the north of Italy, there are plenty of options to extend your journey a little further to the south. Just an hour away there is the Lake Garda[21], whose north shore is not only permanently occupied by German tourists, but where you can also surf, sail, and do fixed rope climbing routes[22]. In one and a half hours you reach Verona[23], and, even though Romeo and Juliet's balcony is not very exciting[24]
And there's no reason to touch Julia's golden breasts.
, you should definitely visit an open air opera[25] in the Arena[26]. Unfortunately, the season does not start until June 23th. You can reach Venice[27] in two and a half hours and even though this city is packed with visitors[28], you will find quiet places off the main paths[29]
Be aware that eating and drinking prices are ridiculous (!!) on the main Marcus square, but normal just 100 meters away.
. Having reached Venice, you have reached the sea[30], even though the Adriatic Sea is not the nicest coast in Italy[31]Fortunately Italy has 7500 kilometres of coast.. A bit further south you will find the romantic hills of Tuscany and famous cities like Pisa and Florence. While we are not yet Italy experts ourselves, don't hesitate to ask us for more specific tips.

In case you have any questions - or even if you don't - just contact us. Otherwise we will.

We are looking forward to an unforgettable time with you,

Eva & Hagen
